i’m doing what i can to make a difference…Before Music Dies.

23 07 2009

this is the REALITY of where music is right now and definitely applies in every aspect to the local music industry and radio. Proof and understanding of why we are the minority here in this land and what we are up against with. Much respect to the makers of this documentary. It’s good to have some validation on issues i feel strongly about.

Music IS dead, or so it feels

You know, you are NOT the only one to feel like this. The site linked here is living proof of the lack of hope for the future of music. I guess it is also the harbinger of despair for the future of youth as a whole as well.

I can’t help but wonder what the completely packaged and sold music example has don to the thinking process of the kids that are coming of age now. They are the children of the children of the children who last were allowed to think for themselves. The music has no soul, and amazingly enough the new crop of teens don’t seem to have souls either. Connection?

After watching the documentary, I actually felt sad with the state the new generation is in. It augments what I’ve always felt about, not just the majors, but of aspiring talents wanting so bad to make it, they dispel true artistry to conform whit what the labels, stations think will make a buck…FAST! The true artists whose music encompasses true emotion, joy, pain, etc. who live, breathe and die for the music, really are left to die.

On another light…it’s also really good to know that there are people who push the envelope of taste and sound. As an individual, it’s up to me to support the music that fuels me…and even make make my own, to share…and even perhaps…make a difference, even if it’s just to another individual.
